History

For centuries, the mountainous region of Delkari was home to the (mostly human) refugees of Rukilia; in particular those who migrated to the area then chafed at being de facto slaves to the naga. The cold mountains and plateaus had been mostly avoided by the naga, even during Rukilia's numerous expansion campaigns. the conditions also limited the human population to those hardy & stubborn enough to carve out their own life.

The most vulnerable Delkarians lived along the southern border, being closest to Rukilia.

Within these mountains and on the plateaus, a number of towns and small cities developed and eventually bound together in a small kingdom. At the same time, a variation of the worship of the Great Maker developed, mixing with a style of martial arts, philosophy (including reincarnation), and medicine which eventually gained the name Vadkalan. The capital city of Baitam housed the largest training center for Vadkalan, akin to a university.

Country Today

Even before the Great Fall, Delkari had been shifting towards a representative republic, a process that finished in 1262 CR when The last queen stepped down to become a kuni (nun), and the first Cheko (President) was sworn in.

Relations with other nations

As a small nation between giants, Delkari does its best to not draw the attention of their neighbors, especially Rukilia.
