Astral Plane

The astral plane is a multi-dimensional realm that hews closely to the material plane. Individuals who engage in astral projection send their consciousness out into the astral plane and can observe events going on elsewhere in the material plane, though there is also some bleed-over from the Dreamlands and things may not look exactly as they do in the real world.

Mortal spirits pass through the astral plane on their way to the Nine Hells. When the cosmic machinery of the Hells becomes "jammed", spirits can get stuck here, becoming ghosts, eidolons or revenants. Shades, the echoes of departed spirits, also persist within the astral plane.

The astral plane touches on the Dreamlands and the First Hell, and is bounded by the Veil.
