The leader of the International Red Spiral is the goddess Akkala.

The International Red Spiral is a nonprofit organization that works to provide medical care to the poor and needy around the world.

At one point in the past, Seralina Grayhaven's medical diagnostics company (Seraph Diagnostic Solutions) developed a slightly less accurate, but cost effective assay for a medical condition called Cranning Syndrom. It was her intent to work with the Red Spiral to provide the assay to the poor. However, Malcolm ard'Valos's interest and backdealing lead to the company failing and being aqquired by Malcolm, possibly before the assay could be made available.
