Background

Yajiit was the goddess of the sun and a very lonely creature; her connection to the elemental aspect of Fire was so strong that she would burn anything she comes into contact with, even the flesh of the other deities. She had to hover above the ground or burn anything she touched, and she would trail fire in her wake as she moved, looking like a comet or shooting star from afar.

Her power was so strong that she does not have Celestial children.

She had the capacity to be a very joyous and loving individual, but the separation from the mortal realm forced upon her by the strength of her power made her quite sad most of the time. The happiest anyone has reported seeing her before the Great Fall was when she appeared at Metamor Keep on 20 July 706 to bestow her blessing on Merai, whom she called Elenin ("starchild").

That changed with the Great Fall.

With the aedra and daedra cut off from the greater portion of their power by Merai, Yajiit was able to interact with the mortal realm in a way she had never been able to before. She could touch things, and other beings, without burning them. Once she realized that her touch would no longer destroy her partners (this was within days of the Fall), she readily embraced love, and sex, and the motherhood that followed. As a result she has had over 300 children since the Great Fall.

She draws power from burnt sacrifices and fire of all types

Current Activities

Yajiit currently lives a quiet life among the dragons. Wielding no political power in the Dragon Federation, she is nonetheless highly respected by these noble creatures and is welcomed wherever she goes. A small community of humans live with her3, embracing the same simple life that she pursues and enjoying fellowship with her in a family-like setting. She is a mother and a sister to them, even a lover to some, but never a goddess — she revels in the simple pleasures of being mortal.

The spoken word is not used among Yajiit's people, except in teaching the young and dealing with outsiders; Yajiit believes that "tongues multiply lies", probably due to her negative experiences with Samekkh and Kammoloth's manipulations. Her people use a form of sign language that is both visual and tactile, so it is impossible to communicate without the use of touch — something that Yajiit considers very precious, since she was unable to touch anyone when her power was at full strength.
