Titles
- Mistress of Lust
- Queen of the Daedra
Background
Suspira is the Mistress of Lust, and has been one of the most powerful members of the pantheon for as long as they have been bound to their respective spheres of influence. A sybaritic hedonist, Suspira is extroverted and playful with anyone who goes along with her games, but she has a quick temper and will react violently and vengefully toward anyone who tries to spoil her fun. She also has a rather twisted sense of "fun", which often involves taking advantage of those in her company.
Suspira draws power from any casual, inconsiderate or selfish sexual act that takes place within range of her powers; this includes one-night stands, orgies, rape, bestiality, and any sexual union in which one partner benefits at the expense of the other.
She also draws an energy "tax" from every incubus and succubus (she is the ancestor to all incubi and succubae) who "feeds" on a mortal while in her service. Suspira takes particular pleasure in seducing mortals herself; the measure of energy she extracts from her partners can be dangerously high, but she has lately made an effort to prevent any outright fatalities among her consorts in order to avoid provoking the wrath of Kyia.
Holy Symbol
Two circles joined by a short line, with a longer line running perpendicular to it in a T-junction. The symbol represents the erogenous zones of both sexes.
Symbolic Creatures
None — the human animal is the only creature that Suspira needed to represent her portfolio.
Holy Day
Due to the influence of the Lightbringer Order the daedra lords were considered the "bad gods" or devils. As such, the Daedra Lords did not have individual holy days, but were all combined into one night, Daedra'kema (similar to the real world’s Halloween & Walpurgisnacht, with *much* sharper teeth and claws).1
An Ancient Rivalry Continues
Suspira and Lilith had a rivalry in the past. Before the Great Fall, Suspira held sway over her fellow daedra as their queen to Ba'al's leadership. Lilith felt that she deserved the position. Then Lilith was killed by Talia and Suspira breathed a sigh of relief. But not for long.
Talia's Church of the Eternal Brotherhood and Suspira's Church of Hedonism are now both very powerful and influential organizations and Talia's power currently outstrips Suspira's.
Current Activities
Suspira is a Universalist; she believes, or claims to believe, that she is the embodiment of the pleasure principle, and that by promoting the unrestrained exploration of pleasure in her mortal followers she is helping the universal consciousness to understand what it really wants (and thus, in theory, why it has broken itself up into so many disparate pieces). To this end she has founded her own sensualist cult, the Church of Hedonism.
While generally frowned upon by most of society, the Hedonists have a substantial membership from all social classes: corporate and government VIPs, middle-class professionals who yearn for a taste of the wild life, and disaffected lower-class workers from the inner cities. While their meetings are clandestine, it's fairly easy to become a member — they take out ads in papers all across the western world, and their domain on the WorldNet is well-known. Hedonists actively (but usually discreetly) seek to bring others into the cult, since every new member is a new source of power for their Mistress and, theoretically, another step on the road to universal self-enlightenment. The priesthood of the Church is filled with incubi and succubae, and orgies led by these priests and priestesses are a major component of Hedonist religious practice.
Known Allies
- Jasmine is the most powerful priestess of Suspira who has been seen in a story to date.
Known Enemies
- Talia competes with Suspira for followers with her Church of Eternal Brotherhood. Vampires and their thralls generally avoid contact with Suspira's incubi and succubae, so this competition directly takes away potential followers from Suspira.
- Velena continues to promote her ethos of selfless love through the Hope Foundation, which runs contrary to Suspira's message of pursuing self-centered pleasure.
