Background

Kammoloth was the Aedra Lord that his fellow Aedra flocked around in the opening moves of the Great War. He was considered by the mortals as the King of the Heavens.1

He was instrumental in creating the alliance with the Daedra Lords, his brother Ba'al in particular, that imprisioned or killed the titans and earning the punishment of the Elders.

After that alliance broke and the aedra and daedra began fighting, Kammoloth then undertook the steps that would end the Great War. He took on the form of a scout in the Metamor army named Alexander and slept with his wife, Dana, on a night that Alexander left on an extended patrol. The result was Merai, the Starchild. In 708 CR, Kammoloth appeared to Merai in order to recruit her help bringing about the downfall of the daedra lords. This plan backfired, however, when Merai unexpectedly sided with Iluvatar against the entire pantheon, bringing about the Great Fall.

A god of celebrations, he draws power from feasts, libations (drink offerings), and similar proceedings. He also exacted an energy "tax" of sorts from all the other aedra lords.

Kammoloth was also well known for taking lovers; only Dvalin came close to having the same reputation among the gods. Kammoloth's wife, Akkala, was tolerant of these relationships. However, she left him when she found out how he engineered the birth of The Starchild and the purpose he intended for his child.

Holy Symbol

A stylized crown.

Symbolic Creatures

Lion, golden eagle.

Holy Day

Kammo'kema, May 15th. A great feast was hosted by the Lothanasi in celebration on this day each year. Ceremonies consist of prayers, petitions, and drink offerings (libations). In a normal year at Metamor Keep, a large tent was raised on the parade grounds in Euper, at the base of Metamor Ridge, and the party was opened to everyone in the Valley. Much eating, drinking and merry-making ensues.

Kammoloth today

Kammoloth's whereabouts are unknown by both mortals and immortals. Devastated by the betrayal of his daughter Merai, disowned by his previously-faithful wife Akkala, and rejected by most of his one-time followers, he disappeared into the wilderness, a broken man. Wherever he is now, he's keeping a low profile.

Author's Note [SPOILERS]

Kammoloth actually committed a sort of assisted suicide almost a thousand years ago. After many years of wandering the Giantdowns as a vagrant, bereft and broken, he was taken in by a kind-hearted widow who worked as a healer in a small northern village. Having no idea who he was, she nonetheless treated him with kindness, giving him a place that he could call home for the first time since his fall from the Ninth Heaven. In time he found a measure of peace in the quiet, simple life of a Northlands farmer, and he came to love the woman as he had never loved anyone before.

After Kammoloth had lived with her for about twenty years, the woman fell into a terminal illness. For all his power, Kammoloth did not have Akkala's gift for healing others, and had no idea how to cure her. By this time, however, he had heard of Lilith's death at the hands of Talia, and knew that a mortal who took the life of a god would be invested with the deity's power. The woman was reluctant to take this path, since she had come to love Kammoloth as well, but he begged her to accept this gift from him and allow him, at last, to enter the rest of death. In the end she agreed, and cut his throat with a knife of his own making. Restored to health and gifted with eternal youth and immortality, she moved on to another village. She has moved several times over the centuries, keeping her powers secret but using them in small ways to help those who need it. More often, though, it is her wise words and simple kindness, rather than any supernatural talents, that help people to find their way again.

One thing to notes that if the Widow does use any powers, she will probably give off a golden light as Kammoloth did, unless she deliberately chooses to mask it (a remnant of Kammoloth's aura).
